Odd Stevens

Steve Sinnott, one of the three candidates for the top job at the National Union of Teachers, has been struggling with a virtual doppelganger. Try searching for his www.stevesinnott.org.uk campaign website and you may find yourself in the wild world of Steve Sinnott, an Isle of Man TT sidecar racer from Peterborough.

TT Steve has even starred in a surreal arthouse movie called Cremaster 4 about TT racers, fairies and testicle-covered tyres. NUT Steve is discomfited. "People who have been looking for me on the Internet keep coming up asking whether I do a bit of TT racing in my spare time. I suppose the other Steve Sinnott has terrible problems with people wondering whether he is deputy general secretary of the NUT." Or maybe not.
