Offside trap

In case you missed it, Our Henry, aka First Minister and former East Fife player, made a guest appearance last Saturday on BBC Radio Scotland's football fanzine programme On the Ball.

Studio pundit and resident joker Tam Cowan didn't miss a trick. "Be honest," he innocently asked Henry McLeish. "What was your proudest moment? Was it the day you were appointed Fist Minister or when you heard you had passed your O grade history exam?" "I sat my exams some time ago," a bemused McLeish replied.

Cowan pounced. "Ah, but the results have only just come in."

Could the First Ministerial mantra of "no repeat of exams fiasco" rapidly become the equivalent of the football chairman's total confidence in his manager?
