Ofsted chief's 'all-time low' remark riles

9th December 2011 at 00:00

How depressing it was to read Sir Michael's comment that low morale would be an indicator of good management. What sort of Victorian school of management has he been studying at? After more than 20 years of successful teaching, Sir Michael is welcome to see a summary of my "individual teacher performance". But he won't be allowed to be complimentary - we don't want a teacher feeling good, do we?

Paul Howes, Head of history, North Yorkshire.
