Children's sport could lose up to pound;340 million as lottery grants are diverted to the London 2012 Olympics. The loss comes despite Government targets to increase the number of people playing sport by 1 per cent every year until 2020. A spokesman for Sport England, which distributes the funds, said: "Hosting the Games will help raise the profile of sport and inspire more people to get involved."
