The perfect fit? (14 December)

- At last the SNP government has recognised the need to define "access" to a teacher. Just don't take too long. You have wasted too much time already.

TESS interview: Anthony Finn (7 December)

- "Whether it has an implication for workload or not, I'm not sure." Seriously?

Staying sharp (7 December)

- Consultation has just finished on PU. In the whole of Scotland, there were 70 responses. Bizarrely it now seems that PU in this form is going ahead. Strikes loom as heads are put in charge of pay (14 December)

- About time. If only to persuade the minority of teachers who either received promotions through a "loyaltylong service" mindset or are close to retirement and "counting the days" to go earlier.

"Chris Keates, general secretary of the NASUWT, said the proposals 'place virtually unlimited discretion on teachers' pay in the hands of heads at a time when unfairness and discrimination are already rife'."

Well Chris, like your other union colleagues (too manydisparate to have any impact), you haven't done anything about it, so it's no good bleating when the next initiative comes.
