The Welsh Office has launched an investigation into allegations of intimidation and the use of misleading information by those campaigning against grant-maintained status for St Mellon's Church primary, Cardiff.

Rod Richards. minister for education in Wales, said he had asked officials to look into the "disturbing allegation". The Education Act 1993 gives the Secretary of State the power to declare a ballot invalid. The result is expected on March 28.
