Our Wally knows where it's at

If further education has a spiritual home then it must surely be Liverpool, a city which has given birth to more talent than any other (I'm not talking about Jimmy Tarbuck) and is getting its act together after years of neglect.

If FE has been the Cinderella sector, then Livepool, surely, has been the Cinderella city.

But there's a new mood of optimism down by the Mersey these days, which prompted Saturday's Times to pay tribute to "cool" Liverpool.

And who should be named among Liverpool's coolest movers and shakers?

Why, none other than Wally Brown, principal of Liverpool Community College.

FErret thinks Liverpool's pretty cool too. And so are you Wally.
