An anaemic version of Grange Hill still survives but what happened to the TV show's original and best stars?

Todd Carty, alias Tucker, has stayed in the limelight, in EastEnders. But the Diary was intrigued to find George Armstrong - who played Tucker's sidekick, burly Alan Humphries - is working at Roedean as a theatre technician. "I don't miss the fame at all," he told the Diary. "I used to have people harassing me in the street. I prefer to have some privacy and enjoy the teaching side of this job."
