Paid to govern

In "Parents to sign up to good behaviour" (TES, December 12) the reader was told that the Secretary of State could appoint and pay as many "emergency governors" as he saw fit. As a governor for more than 12 years I foolishly thought all governors were equal. Perhaps some are more equal than others?
