Parents targeted

Parenting classes, not teachers, are to be the Government's new focus in helping deprived and problem children, Tony Blair is expected to announce on Monday. Research for Downing Street found support for compulsory classes for parents whose children misbehaved. Eight out of ten participants believed there should be extra support and training for families which had lower educational ability and aspirations, research found.
