Parity poopers

5th November 2004 at 00:00
I have sympathy for Jan Ian Bailey who says it will take him seven years to reach pound;27,000 (TES, October 22). However, I have an application pack from an FE college for a lecturer to teach and manage their FE and HE teacher training. The top of the scale is pound;27,000. There is no threshold or upper pay spine in FE and the annual holiday is 35 days. No wonder lecturers want pay parity with school teachers.
