Past Ofsted stars fall from grace

The latest annual Ofsted report shows a 2 per cent drop in schools rated outstanding. As previously outstanding schools are now exempt from routine inspections, the sample focused on lower-performing institutions. But of the outstanding schools Ofsted did inspect, 40 per cent saw their overall grade drop. Three schools fell from outstanding to inadequate.
