(Photograph) - Pupils from Shawlands Academy in Glasgow bring their culinary and vocational skills together in the service of learning Italian, culminating in a work experience stint in Florence. The result has been an increase in the numbers learning Italian and more pupils taking the hospitality course. The Scottish Council for Development and Industry was so impressed it gave the school one of the three top prizes in its "languages for export" awards. Photograph by TOM FINNIE ATOM
