Peace in our time

An educational charity aiming to build better understanding between religions has launched a range of materials for schools. The Peacemakers online resource includes music, photography and a film.

The Feed the Minds Christian charity was inspired to create Peacemakers following the terrorist attacks in London on July 7, 2005.

Katy Newell-Jones, the charity's programmes director, said: "Fear and conflict arise as a result of a lack of understanding and respect for different cultures and beliefs.

"The aim of the Peacemakers media pack is to help break down stereotypes and barriers across communities in the UK, regardless of people's age, background or faith.

"We hope that schools, community groups, mosques and churches will use the materials to convey the important message that education and communication are crucial to the development of community."
