Hollywood sometimes reinvents the truth, and rumblings of discontent have started over one of the summer's expected blockbusters, Pearl Harbor. But there's an opportunity to get your facts straight before you see the movie with a one-off website event at

The site is being put together by the Oxford-based publishing company, Osprey, from information based on original documents and US government investigation. The site will feature eyewitness accounts news broadcasts, 3D mapping and animations. Other features include an encyclopedia, virtual tours of fighter planes and battleships, web links and worksheets.

Like Osprey's previous web event, essentialnormanconquest. com, the Pearl Harbor site will unfold in real time and will feature the major preceding events as well as the bombing itself.

The essentialpearlharbor site goes live on Monday, May 14, and ends on Friday, May 25 with a re-enactment of the attack.
