Play the cards right

14th October 2005 at 01:00
Round the Class Maths Cards allow primary teachers to get everyone involved in lively mathematical thinking while practising other skills, such as listening and memorising. The tough laminated cards come in sets of 30, with four topics for KS1 and nine each for lower and upper KS2.

Every card has an answer on the left and an unrelated question on the right. By starting with one question (colour-coded for different levels of ability), the entire class creates a chain of problems, all of which need to be solved to complete the loop, before shuffling and starting again.

Round the Class Maths Cards cost pound;3.99, plus VAT per set, available from Philip Tacey.
