The plurality of pedantry;Letter

2nd July 1999 at 01:00
Call me a pedant, but I have news for English teacher and grammarian Geoff Barton ("Speech packs a punch", Friday Magazine, TES, June 11).

The word "media" is plural: the problem which Mr. Burton wishes to see addressed is "the media and how to handle them", not "it".
