It was touching to see my mum, Megan Mills, featured as "my best teacher"

in the article about Jamie Cullum (Friday magazine, September 30) .

However, her excitement and pleasure were severely diminished by the fact that it was mentioned that she went to West Ham every week.

She is, in fact, a die-hard Swindon Town fan and watches them every weekend. She often sees Jamie's dad at Swindon games and so this made her even more surprised that she was labelled a Hammer.

She often had to leave school early on Tuesday lunchtimes to catch the coach to Carlisle or Crewe - so it would be good if her ex-colleagues knew that she was following the local team rather than bunking off to London.
