RATHER churlish, surely, your reaction to Phil Willis's victory in the "teachers' hero" poll (TES, December 20).

The old joke about the government rejecting the electorate seems to have been updated. We now have a periodical rejecting its readership. Though I did not take part myself, it seems to me that the people have spoken.
