Surely the various retreats and reverses over Labour's proposals on lifelong learning simply underline that it is a lifelong learning process in itself to work out what Mr Blair's commitment to "education, education, education" actually means. In time, no doubt, people will write PhDs on the matter - probably unfunded ones.
