(Photograph) - Positive stance . . . pupils revise maths at St Thomas the Apostle College in Peckham, south London. The school was praised this week by the Office for Standards in Education for its work in raising the achievement of ethnic-minority children. The proportion of pupils gaining five or more higher-grade GCSEs has risen from 21 to 53 per cent in four years.
