I HAVE just received my copy of Teachers magazine from the Department for Education and Employment and am worried that a new performance-related pay criteria may be being introduced.

Only those fluent in jive talk could possibly have made sense of the story headlined "Rdio 1 DJ big-ups maths massive". If this is an indication of "education for the future", as the magazine's subtitle suggests, then no doubt a performance indicator is soon to follow.
