YOUR article "Hoarse sense" (TES, January 14) made excellent sense. Many teachers have to struggle to be heard in overcrowded, badly designed and noisy buildings. Voice strain can result in permanent injury and the end of a teaching career

My union is campaigning for voice training, improved facilities, better designed classrooms and smaller classes.
