GIVEN the current fiasco involving the Scottish Qualifications Authority, I find it interesting that the minister responsible for Scottish education refuses to tender his resignation.

This display of arrogance shows the double standards operated by those in governmen. At the start of of New Labour's reign, we heard the importance of seeking out those who were failing the teaching profession. Mr Blair indicated that only the best would be good enough for our children.
