YOU assert (TES, October 15) that the registration fee for the general teaching council "could be as much as pound;30".
Such a high sum has never been suggested to my knowledge and every effort will be made to set the amount as low as possible. The fee will not be set until autumn 2001 when the council's members can decide for themselves what is needed to run a cost-effective organisation.
