Pray for St Asbo's

24th February 2006 at 00:00
D C Thomson, fresh on the heels of annoying Kathleen Marshall, Scotland's commissioner for the weans, with its new Beano cartoon strip, "The Asbo Family", thumbed its nose at the commissioner again last week.

In the latest adventure, the teacher and headmaster of the famous Bash Street Kids find themselves working in St Asbo's, which is even more of a hell-hole than Bash Street.

Can we assume St Asbo's is a Catholic school? Surely not, given claims that the Church's academies are a superior force when it comes to discipline.

But, if so, will we see a protest from the Scottish Catholic Education Service?
