Download maps of Athens from the internet and plot the sites of the various events. Find out about the new infrastructure created for the 2004 Games. How has this changed the way the city looks now? Investigate some differences between the ancient and modern games. Imagine you were asked to modernise the games still further. What changes would you make? Devise your own mini Olympic Games. Choreograph an opening ceremony involving dance and drama. Hold appropriate competitions and make presentations. Design and make medals. List some of the more bizarre events that have been included in the games such as Fancy Diving, the Obstacle Course or Underwater Swimming. Produce a programme for the events to explain the rules for each of the competitions.
