Creativity Using the international code of signals (search Google Images) get pupils to spell their names in lines of flags and hang these above their desks.

Make a model of HMS Victory from recycled materials. Study the picture "The Death of Nelson" by Arthur William Devis and then use a digital camera to take pictures of other action scenes.

Humanities Draw plans of the children's routes to school with the time taken to get there. Design a route between two places in school and give it a name. Create a leaflet to publicise it.

Play Plot Lapenotiere's route on a map. Using the internet, research the Trafalgar Festival celebrations (

Invent traditions to celebrate notable school events. Stage them or write a tourist guide to them.
