Private heads' #163;170k+

The best-paid public school heads can expect to receive an annual salary of over #163;170,000, according to figures obtained by the Sunday Times. The highest salary on the list - disclosed in annual reports to the Charity Commission - was Eton's Tony Little, who received #163;180,000-189,999 in 200708. The second highest-paid head was Vicky Tuck of Cheltenham Ladies' College, whose salary was #163;170,000-179,999. High-profile Wellington College head Anthony Seldon was reported to have earned over #163;150,000. School fees at top public schools have jumped this year by more than 5 per cent, over double the rate of inflation.
