The prize is right

BT has once again relaxed the entry rules for its half-termly FutureTalk Schools award. The competition offers the winning school a cash prize of pound;25,000, with 5 runners-up each winning pound;5,000. To encourage more entries, last month BT offered free website design and hosting for one year to the first 2,000 schools to register on the competition's website.

For the next round (the deadline for which is June 23), BT has added an open subject category. Entries must outline a comunication project that uses ICT and there are several model entries on the website to help schools develop their ideas. Pupils can be from key stages 2 to 4 or P2-S4 in Scotland. Given the size of cash prizes on offer, ICT co-ordinators might find it worthwhile to take a break from chasing computer vouchers from supermarkets and instead oversee an entry. Details and application forms are available at or call their helpline on 0870 333 0373.
