Protect adult learning

11th June 2010 at 01:00
Qualifications provider NCFE has called for government action to protect adult education. David Grailey, its chief executive, spoke out after Vince Cable's first major speech as Business Secretary

Mr Grailey said: "Vince Cable's optimism and personal attachment to the adult learning sector is very encouraging. However, the FE sector needs more than for ministers to pay yet more lip service to its current difficulties. What we need is clarity and a defined way forward so that the FE sector can ensure the best for its learners and institutions and facilitate the process of getting the economy back on track."
