CITIZENSHIP courses have a duty to remind today's youth of the ideals and sacrifices that have made present broad-mindedness possible. Few liberal luxuries come without a price. The past patriotism of a million British citizens was the pricepaid for today's tolerance.

English teenagers should be proud of their country. Patriotism should be an essential part of any new citizenship courses. What better time than St George's Day to learn this lesson?
