Put your HMI memories to paper;Letter

29th January 1999 at 00:00
A group of former inspectors have been collecting material in the form of personal recollections and papers, for a project on HM Schools Inspectorate between 1945 and 1992.

Now, the Nuffield Foundation has made a research grant to support and broaden this study and turn it into a book which I have been commissioned to write.

I would be very pleased to hear from any TES reader about their encounters with the pre-OFSTED HMI which might help me to assemble a rounded picture of the inspectorate in action.
