Racism is shocking but not a surprise

I am an Asian woman looking to go into teaching. I live in a predominantly white area. The school my children attend has a majority white population, yet they have not faced any discrimination and it welcomes diversity. This makes me believe that I will not be discriminated against as a teacher.
