Raising the roof

Children from one of England's last thatched schools sent a petition to 10 Downing Street in a bid get a new school. Pupils at Cheriton Fitzpaine primary in Devon are taught in a longhouse dating back to 1642. Ofsted said it is "inadequate". Devon county council said plans have been delayed by financial problems.
