Recognising emotions teaching pack

8th September 2000 at 01:00
The need to understand ourselves and others is more important than any national curriculum subject. Bristol LEA has produced a teaching pack, The Emotional Literacy Hour, that shows how recognising and handling feelings can be learned. A 45-minute video includes scenes in 10 schools, from nursery to secondary. They cover themes such as self-confidence, parenthod and drugs, and use a convincing mixture of drama, discussion, mediation and "circle time". There are also worksheets and guidance for teachers.

The Emotional Literacy Hour costs pound;19 + pound;3.33 VAT from Lucky Duck Publishing Ltd, 3 Thorndale Mews, Clifton, Bristol BS8 2HX. Email: publishing@luckyduck.co.uk Website: www.luckyduck.co.uk Tom Deveson
