Record recruits

Further education colleges in Wales hit record levels of recruitment last year with 170,000 enrolments showing an overall growth rate of 9.8 per cent, the annual report of the Further Education Funding Council for Wales shows. The TES autumn survey also suggests that Wales is heading for an increase of at least 5 per cent this year. John Andrews, FEFCW chief executive, attributed the rise to new opportunities offered by colleges.
