More than 2,000 schools will be donating 1996 Christmas cards to restore Britain's depleted woodlands. They are taking part in the Countryside Commission's card recycling scheme. The Royal Mail will be collecting cards to sell to recyclers, and the scheme runs until January 31. Telephone the helpline on 0117-984-0505 for details.
