Entertainment of a different kind during a fire alarm at the City Mills Hotel. Glasgow nursery headteacher Gillian Kulwicki was in the middle of her ablutions when she was forced to flee in her dressing gown.

Had she fought Gordon for new Labour in the Scottish Parliament elections thus attired, she might have made it to the Mound, quipped one fellow escapee.
