Jaqui Reid, a parent who co-presented a workshop at the East Renfrewshire inclusion conference last week (page six), is a woman of many positive, not to say formidable, qualities.

As chairperson of the Scottish inclusion charity Equity, her qualities were put to the test when she received a telephone call from someone who, understandably perhaps, confused her organisation with the thespians' and entertainers' trade union.

Reid's talents proved of little assistance and thus it was that Nina the Fire Eater had to look elsewhere for insurance for her act.
