On the road to better choice

LOCAL eduaction authorities should give poor families a better choice of school, the Government's social exclusion unit recommends. A new report suggests that councils should pilot giving free transport to pupils on free school meals, or with statements of special need, who wish to attend a school more than a mile from home.
