Road to fantasy

Talking of the end of term, we are intrigued to learn that Land Rover is now targeting teachers as their thoughts turn to release from the classroom.

"Do you feel adventurous today?" the company's letter to one Edinburgh secondary teacher began. "Why not shoot off to the nearest beach and let the kids and the dog run wild in the dunes? Or head for the hills, up the steepest, windiest lanes to the most breathtaking views over fells and lakes? Or cruise down the motorway and not stop until you're parked outside a cafe in a cobbled square on the other side of the Channel?" Phew. Our most immediate thoughts were whether Land Rover was about to reduce its prices dramatically or whether the firm knows something about the teachers' pay round next year that we don't.
