The road to safety

Help your key stage 2 and 3 pupils become lifesavers. The British Red Cross has launched a road safety assembly kit for teachers as part of its Don't be a Bystander campaign 2007.

Approximately 3,500 children are killed or seriously injured each year on UK roads. The Red Cross aims to reach young people aged between nine and 13 to learn basic lifesaving skills and use them confidently at the scene of a crash.
