Talking of love, fifth-year pupils at a Catholic secondary were recently given lessons in family planning. In such a bastion of the true faith, it was redoubtable ladies from the Natural Family Planning Association who were paraded.

After their talk a pupil inquired how many children they had themselves. The boast was of large broods: four, five, even more. One young buck was heard to mutter: "Aye, and when we're in sixth year we've tae get oor driving lessons from Stevie Wonder."
