Rolling days of action
Next Tuesday and Thursday will be the first days of action at the college, the Educational Institute of Scotland has confirmed.
There will be a further two days of action the week after on Wednesday and Thursday and then the dispute will intensify to three days a week, every week, until the end of the session.
More than 94 per cent of those who voted in the 63 per cent turnout backed action. Voting was 242 in favour and 15 against.
Ronnie Smith, the union's general secretary, said that lecturers had been forced into this by the college management and urged a "radical rethink of their proposals as a matter of urgency".
