The Scattered Authors' Society, a diehard band of children's writers who produce free resources for schools based on their favourites among their own works, has put its latest children's reviewing competition online at The latest Authors' Choice poster promotes 24 books in age groups from key stage 1 to teen, and the website includes Penny Dolan's review-writing guidelines from "First read the book" to "Don't give away the ending". Children have until March 31 2006 to read any (or all) of the list and polish their prose. If you've missed out on the latest poster mailing to schools, send an A4 SAE to Authors' Choice 2005 poster, co 10 Woodside, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, HG1 5NG.
