The latest addition to Learning and Teaching Scotland's SCETNet series is on history for secondary schools and colleges.

SCETNet CD-Roms are aimed at teachers primarily but also contain a set of student activities for a range of courses for students aged 16 and over. SCETNet History contains a classroom area with 20 activities with two subdivisions. "Historical study Scottish and British" features Mary, Queen of Scots and postwar Labour government; "Historical study European and World" includes the American Revolution and the Cold War. The activities are appropriate for Intermediate 2 and Higher courses.

The websites featured on the CD-Rom include sources and historical commentary, and students are asked to consider the reliability and relevance of sources. Each activity includes questions on the websites and an essay question to encourage an extended response.
