Second time lucky in Midlothian;In brief

A previously rejected pound;33 million plan to replace Dalkeith High and St David's High schools with a community campus including special needs facilities and leisure resources has now been approved by the Scottish Executive under the controversial public private partnership scheme. Ministers angered Midlothian last year by not including the project in a pound;330 million package to eight councils. The change of heart follows six months of talks but financial details have not yet been revealed.
