Secondary Maths

Telephone services are multiplying by the day - and night, it appears. Always eager to chat on the phone, youngsters can dial 0800 4588121 between 7pm and 9pm and receive "1-2-1'' personal tutoring from "qualified maths teachers trained in Scotland''.

The company says the course was piloted last year with 120 children throughout Scotland, more than 85 per cent of whom "have improved their marks''. Tutoring is available for late Primary 6 through to Standard grade; Higher maths is to be added later in the year. Each family receives a set of workbooks and cassettes on secondary maths and a specially assigned tutor who calls back. For further details, tel: 01224 639977.
