REVISE FOR GCSE SCIENCE - Salters (Higher and Foundation). By Gill Alderton, David Berrington and Michael Brimicombe. Heinemann. pound;5.50 each

These books form part of the comprehensive GCSE revision guide series from Heinemann. A typical spread contains short factual summaries of important ideas, worked examples and boxes of practice questions. Pages with answers are provided throughout the text with exam questions that span all three ATs at the end. "Concept maps" are provided to show how ideas are linked together within an attainment target. Each book has a comprehensive index. The format should help with active revision but students will need to revisit their textbook for summarised material which they have not understood.
